If you think dry shampoo is only for days when you’ve slept through your alarm, think again. We asked Kristin Ess, celebrity hairstylist and one half of the duo behind The Beauty Department, for three ways to use the staple spray.
Refresh your bangs
“Lightly mist your bangs from underneath, lifting the hair from the scalp to help with excess oils from the forehead area,” says Ess. “A little goes a long way in the hairline, and [it’s easy to] retouch throughout the day.”
Add volume at the roots
“Apply generously [to each section] at the roots; it will add grit and texture to the hair.” For a quick and easy ’do, flip your hair over and spray, concentrating on the roots, and brush through into a side ponytail.
