On days when dry shampoo alone won’t cut it, there are plenty of hairstyles that actually work better with unwashed hair. From topknots to half-up, half-down ’dos, here are five of our top spring runway styles to rock with second (or third) day hair.

If you’re looking for an easy yet chic way to keep your hair off your face, look no further than the topknot. Whether you’re rocking a leather jacket or a pair of boyfriend jeans on the weekend, this style is perfect for second day hair.
HAIR TIP: Working with unwashed hair will give you a bit more texture to allow your topknot to be held in place all day. For extra hold, spritz a light hold hairspray like Dove Style + Care Flexible Hold Hairspray to secure the style.

Not only are braids super fresh for spring, they also work better with second or third day hair (your natural hair oils will give you a bit more grip when braiding).
HAIR TIP: Be sure to brush your hair prior to braiding to get rid of any tangles. Then, work a dollop of styling mousse like Marc Anthony Pro Style Styling Mousse to give you more control when plaiting strands and to set the braid in place.
We love how this half-up, half-down style works surprisingly well with hair that’s not freshly washed.
HAIR TIP: This style works best with hair that’s been styled the day before (ex. flat ironed or curled) since the bottom portion of your locks will still be on display. Just nix any obviously greasy roots with a dry shampoo (we love Gosh Professional Fresh Up! Dry Shampoo).
THE SPORTY PONYTAIL
SEEN AT:Alexander Wang
Even if you’re pushing past second day hair, you can still pull off this sporty ponytail style. No one will even suspect that your sleek ’do was styled with unwashed hair.
HAIR TIP: The key to rocking the look is to smooth back tresses into a taut ponytail using a fine toothed comb to get rid of any bumps. Play up the wet look even further with a light hold hair gel like Fekkai Sheer Sculpt Styling Gel.

When in doubt, the chignon is always a good choice for second day hair. It actually stays in place better with second day hair and never fails to make you look instantly pulled together.
HAIR TIP: Before twisting your hair into a chignon, try securing your hair into a low ponytail first with a clear hair elastic. Then, work a styling balm like Pantene All In One Styling Balm to the ponytail section to tame any frizzy strands for a more polished looking chignon.
