Sure, we’ll clear out our schedules for a bouncy blowout but that doesn’t mean we need to fork over a lot of cash for professional results. In fact, getting the perfect blowout at home is so easy, you will want to try the DIY route. Don’t believe us? Our simple steps and product picks will have you convinced.

    Step 1:
Start by washing hair and applying a conditioner to only the ends. This will help you retain volume.

Glow recommends: OGX Hydrate + Repair Argan Oil of Morocco Extra Strength Shampoo ($12.49 at Shoppers Drug Mart) great for brittle, dry, damaged hair.

    Step 2:

Rinse and, after blotting excess water, work in a serum into the hair to combat frizz. Flip hair upside down and blow dry hair on low speed for five minutes for extra volume.

Glow recommends: Nexxus® Humectress® EncapsulateTM Serum ($18.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart) progressively smoothes the hair fiber and takes it back to its pre-damaged state.

    Step 3:
Hold the dryer two inches above the roots, pointing the nozzle downward and then gather two-inch sections of hair and start drying using a large brush. Applying tension, lift up hair at the roots and bend it under the ends. Make sure the dryer is at least three-inches away from the shaft, as this will avoid hair damage. Choose an ionic dryer because they reduce frizz.

Glow recommends: Cut blow drying time with göt2b mind-blowing mousse ($8.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart). Plus it adds volume and increases shine. Once your hair is dry, push your hair upwards with your fingers for lasting results.

    Step 4:
To make your blowout last, use a dry shampoo to help absorb oil and product build-up.

Glow recommends: Gosh Fresh Up! Dry Shampoo ($9.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart) absorbs excess oil and impurities from roots to ends leaving hair soft and refreshed.
