I’ll admit, I have a tendency to spend a bit too much time in the hair aisle at the drug store. That’s because I’m sniffing every shampoo and conditioner to figure out which one I like the most. So the first thing I noticed when I picked up John Frieda's Beach Blonde line was the refreshing scent (think a minty lime mojito). Looking past the “blonde” label on the bottle, I decided to give it a shot.
The result? The shampoo and conditioner proved to be my go-to hair products this summer. The Beach Blonde Cool Dip Purifying Shampoo worked wonders to clarify my hair after a day in the pool (aka chlorine damage) and on days when I felt my hair had too much product build-up.
The Beach Blonde Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner was light but still hydrating enough to give life to my summer-parched tresses. Every time I used it, I noticed it slightly lightened a few of my (barely-visible) existing highlights, which made my hair look even brighter. When my hair was dry, it helped give my strands a beachy texture so I could air-dry my hair without a problem.
After discontinuing it a few years back, the brand actually relaunched this shampoo & conditioner after fans of the product petitioned to have it brought back. (Yes, a real petition: see it here). I have my fingers crossed that this line is here to stay.
