If you have skin that’s on the oily side, heat and humidity can be a recipe for disaster. Luckily, we’ve put together five of our top products along with a few tips to help keep oil at bay (and ensure that your makeup won’t budge-even in the heat).

    MATTIFYING PRIMER

To ensure that your makeup won’t end up running down your face throughout the day, be sure to use a mattifying primer under your makeup. Along with keeping oil at bay, a primer will also help smooth out any fine lines or visible pores for a more even skintone.

    OIL-FREE TINTED MOISTURIZER

If you have oily skin, sometimes foundation can feel too heavy on your skin, especially during the summertime. Try going for a lighter, oil-free tinted moisturizer with a built-in SPF for a glowing complexion (without the unwanted shine).

    MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY

Tired of the cakey residue that powders can leave behind? Reach for a mattifying setting spray instead to keep your makeup in place all day. Along with extending the life of your makeup, setting sprays will deflect shine from cropping up in your t-zone.

    BRONZING POWDER

If you want to add a subtle glow without looking like an oil slick, try reaching for a bronzing powder to create a healthy, summer glow. But be sure to avoid formulations with shimmer particles to prevent unwanted shine. To apply, choose areas that the sun would hit naturally- on the tops of cheekbones, temples, and a tiny bit down your nose.

    OIL BLOTTING SHEETS

When it comes to touch-ups during the day, oil blotting sheets are the best option for a quick fix for unwanted shine. Stash them in your purse to blot any excess oil throughout the day.
