To be honest, I’ve never really given my neck much thought. It holds
up my head, and it’s a nice spot to display the occasional statement
necklace or jaunty scarf. Other than that, the ol’neck doesn’t get a lot
of attention. OK, any attention. I religiously put face lotion on my
face and body lotion on my body, but my neck is sort of stuck in
skincare limbo. At least, it was—until I started obsessing about “tech
neck.”
To my horror, I learned (from an eye-opening article in Glow magazine) that the skin on your neck is thinner than the skin on your face, so it shows signs of aging earlier. Sadly, spending hours with our heads bent over our smart phones isn’t doing us any favours either. It turns out my Instagram obsession isn’t just a time-waster…it’s also giving me rather prominent neck wrinkles (gasp).
Before things get too dire—i.e. I have to resort to wearing turtlenecks and chokers for life—I’m determined to undo the damage, or at the very least prevent future creases. With that in mind, I decided to splurge on Rodial’s Glamtox neck masks. Each mask is like a patch that you leave on for 20 – 30 minutes, which sounds like a long time, but it’s practically invisible, so you can totally get away with wearing one at your desk. Talk about multi-tasking!
This was just my second application, but I already feel like my neck wrinkles aren’t quite as deep as they used to be. Plus, the nourishing serum from the mask, that’s rich with amino acids and wheat proteins, definitely feels like it’s giving my long-neglected neck a much-deserved dose of moisture.
